Did you like looking at the clouds as a child and seeing what shapes you could find in them?

I found a great resource recently for classroom use. It is called 'The Shape Game'. It is based on the book by Anthony Browne (published 2003).
 This is a great book to get kids talking about art and 'taking a closer look'. The actual shape game involves taking an outline of a shape and creating an image from it. Our class had just bought some fabulous new oil pastels so the focus was using a new medium and looking at smudging. 
The students really enjoyed being able to draw whatever they wanted! Here are some of their masterpieces:-
